Pedometers for Healthy BVHS Staff

"I think this can only help improve us. "

Nick Evans, Physical Education Teacher

Physical Education teacher, Nick Evans, with the help of Katy Vaughan from Riley County Health Department got a $1,000 grant from WorkWell KS to improve wellness among our staff.

The project promotes sustained aerobic activity that will help decrease stress, make us feel better about ourselves, and hopefully keep insurance costs low for our school.

Pedometers were purchased for the high school staff.  Each week the pedometers are turned in and minutes of aerobic activity are recorded.  There is some friendly competition to achieve the most minutes in a week.

We hope to expand this project to include the entire staff as funding permits.
