Blue Valley BPA Competes at State Leadership Conference

Five BPA members traveled to Wichita February 17-19 to attend the State Leadership Conference and compete in business related events.

Students attended the opening session where our chapter listened to the keynote presentation give by Bill Cordes (speaker, consultant, and author), who inspired members with a very motivational and humorous presentation. Following the close of the opening session, the students headed off to begin competitions at Wichita West High School and at the Airport Hilton Hotel. Events continued throughout the day on Friday and ended with the social activity that night in the hotel ballroom.

The conference finished with the awards ceremony on Saturday.

  • Bobbi competed and placed 1st in Fundamental Word Processing Skills and 5th in Desktop Publishing
  • Carlyn competed and placed 6th in Graphic Design and 6th in Desktop Publishing
  • Eli competed in and placed 2nd in Network Administration, 4th in Economic Research Project, and top ten in Financial Math and Analysis
  • Sol competed in Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications and Integrated Office Applications
  • Annie competed in Advanced Office Applications and Advanced Word Processing Skills

Bobbi and Eli qualified to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. May 3-8.
