"Students could see at the end of the time how much money they lost or gained for the company based on their performance."
On, Friday October 1st, students from Blue Valley High School had the opportunity to find out what it would be like to operate BIG equipment.
North Central Kansas Technical College (NCKTC) brought their mobile heavy equipment simulator for students to experience. NCKTC takes this model unit around to schools, farm and trade shows, and other events to not only promote the heavy equipment operation program at NCKTC, but to help promote many other of the other educational areas offered at the school.
Blue Valley students got to experience one of three simulators that are in the mobile unit. Two of the simulators allowed students to compete against the clock to see how much dirt that they could dig out of a hole in 2 minutes. The other simulator allowed students to see much dirt they could load into two trucks in 7 minutes. At the end of the time, students could see how much money they lost or gained for the company based on their performance.
