I need your help!!
The students of Blue Valley Middle School were doing an awesome job of recycling last semester, but our recycling program has been put on hold because we don’t have any way to get the recycled materials to Howie’s in Manhattan. So I am asking for volunteers to take the recyclables to Howie’s on the following dates: March 30, April 30, and May 20. If you are willing to volunteer, please contact Katie.
–Thanks!
Caitlin M.

Attention Parents: We are nearing the final weeks of the school year. The kids are running short on pencils and paper. Please make sure your student(s) have enough of these essential items to make it through the end of school.

The Blue Valley Business Professionals of America and Booster Club will be hosting the tenth annual youth 3 on 3 basketball tournament at Blue Valley High School in Randolph on March 13, 2010. Boys and girls in grades 3-8 can participate. There is a maximum of four players to a team and teams are guaranteed 4 games each. Some grade levels may need to be combined to make a division. The contact person for each team will be notified of the time of play before the tournament date. A full breakfast and lunch concession stand will be available. Medals will be awarded to the winning teams. We will also be offering a high school and adult free throw shoot out. A reminder: State rules say that 7th and 8th graders can play with no more than 3 people from the same school. Forms are due back March 6. No late entries accepted. For registration forms or questions call Patty Nelson at (785) 293-5255 (e-mail: pnelson@usd384.org) or Tom Nelson at (785) 468-3610 (e-mail: unstbank@kansas.net).
Entry forms can also be picked up the MS office.

Kansas Computerized Assessments
Give me a K! Give me a C! Give me an A! That’s right, the Kansas Computerized Assessments are here and we will begin test the week after spring break. We will be testing grades 5-8, in reading and math, Grade 10 in reading and HS geometry students in math, as well as 7th grade and selected HS students will also be tested in science. The Math and Reading tests have 3 parts and the science test has two parts. We will provide a free breakfast for our students the days they test. Parents, please encourage your students to get plenty of rest on the nights leading up to these tests. It is important that everyone performs his or her very best! The testing schedule can be seen on the district webpage < http://www.usd384.org/> by clicking the assessment link on the left and than clicking the KCA link. These schedules are also available at our schools. Good luck to every and thank you for your support.

Go RAMS!!!
Mr. Winter
