Reading Counts

Students at Olsburg Elementary School are participating in a new computerized reading program this year. It is called Scholastic Reading Counts. This program manages and motivates independent reading district wide.
Students select a book, then after reading it they take a computer-generated quiz and receive instant feedback.

Teachers also receive instant data driven reports. These reports help them know what progress students are making and when they need to intervene.
Olsburg students receive points when they pass a quiz. At the end of each month they use their points to shop at the "R.C. Store". Other motivational incentives include a special "Holiday Store" and an end of the year "R.C. Party". During the year students' point totals are tracked and recognized in various ways.

Please encourage your child to read everyday. The benefits are a life long enjoyment of reading.
