In Mr. Lee’s words - What an awesome summer! The seven students who attended the class are ready to tackle the basics of biotechnology at the university level.  After learning about our mind-blowing genome, how to cast an agarose gel, work a micropipette into the tiny wells, broke up DNA with restriction enzymes, and worked a PCR machine, our amazing students juggled all that in between summer jobs, sports camps, and playing in games in the evening.  I think we found our first line of potential innovators and contributors to that ever-multiplying field of biotechnology.  Mrs. Hutson and I wonder if more students from Blue Valley will be our future Nobel laureates?
