Blue Valley BPA Travel to Compete
The Blue
Valley High School Business Professionals of America chapter traveled
to Wichita on February 18-20 to participate in
the BPA State Leadership
Conference. A total of 18 members attended the conference.
Megan,
Carrie, Jacob, Eli, Kristen, and Ashley qualified for Nationals which
will be held in Anaheim, California in May. Kristen placed first
in Advanced Word Processing Skills.
Carrie placed second in Basic Office Systems and Procedures. Jacob
placed third in Keyboarding Production. Ashley placed third and Kristen
fourth in Advanced Office Systems and Procedures. Eli placed in the
top ten
in Financial Math & Analysis.
Megan placed in the top ten in Parliamentary Procedure Concepts and
Administrative Support Concepts. Also placing but not qualifying for
Nationals is Taylor, who placed fifth in Graphic Design Promotion.
Taylor is an alternate in this event. Another alternate for Nationals
is the Administrative Support Team, which consisted of Kara, Annie,
Carlyn, and Bailee.
At the
SLC we competed in our events, attended opening and closing sessions,
were motivated by the keynote speaker, Eddie Slowikowski, relaxed at
the social night, and met a lot of new friends. Nationals will be held
May 4-9 in Anaheim, California. |
