RMS Garden Project

Mr. Lee's Learning Academy learned about gardening with the help of Mrs. Schroller, Gregg Eyestone of the Riley County Extension Agency, and the Riley County Master Gardeners. The Blue Valley Foundation provided funding for the project.

They grew spinach, radishes, onions, and several varieties of lettuce in the raised garden they built. The students invited the school administrators to a salad luncheon made from the vegetables they grew.

They also refurbished the Scott Johnson Memorial Garden transforming it into a butterfly garden. Students made shallow watering dishes for the butterflies from clay that was molded into leaf shapes, glazed, and fired.
