BPA Nationals 2012

Blue Valley BPA Students Compete at Nationals in the Windy City of Chicago

BPA students traveled to Chicago, Illinois for the National Business Professionals of America Conference April 24-29 to compete in business career competitions and the election of national officers.

After competing at the state level in February, Bobbi qualified for nationals in Advanced Word Processing and Bobby qualified in Fundamental Word Processing.

With their advisor, Patty Nelson, the group started the trip by attending the opening session with motivational speaker Eddie Slowikowski. Students competed in their events, attended a leadership workshop, saw many Chicago sights, and completed the trip by attending the closing session.

BPA members from all states participated in the “Walk for Special Olympics”. Special Olympics is the national service project for BPA. The walk started from our hotel and ended at the Navy Pier on the coast of Lake Michigan. Although the weather didn’t cooperate, it was a good trip to the Windy City.
