BPA Fall Delegate Assembly

Blue Valley BPA--Start of a New Year

Eight of Blue Valley’s Business Professionals of America attended the Fall Delegate Assembly at the KSU Union on October 26. The theme this year was “Minute to Win It.” The purpose of this conference is to elect the new state officers for Kansas, and participate in leadership workshops. This year Blue Valley was lucky enough to have one of our own students run for a state office. Bailee, along with the help of Kara and Bobbi, campaigned against 8 other candidates for one of the six state offices. She worked hard and won over many of the students from the other schools that attended the FDA and received the historian position for Kansas. Bailee will server as historian for the entire school year and conclude at the Fall Delegate Assembly in October 2012.
At the Fall Delegate Assembly, students also attended different workshops that officers from last year’s executive council presented. BPA members got the chance to get better at communication skills in “communiCAN”, ways to help the community in “Brainstorming Philanthropy”, finding out successful ways to achieve dreams in “Teamwork”, acknowledging diversity in everyday life in “Diversity and How it Affects You”, and creating positivity in “How to be a Winning Group”. It was workshops like communiCAN that got Blue Valley’s BPA in the mood for a great year with our own chapter!
