6th Grade Science

Hands on Science

Take a clay/sand mix, a cup with a small hole in the bottom, a huge green basin, water, and 40 minutes and look what you get!

Mr. Lee's 6th grade science students are learning about erosion, sediments, and how landforms are created. Reading about the Grand Canyon and the Hudson River added a Social Studies element to the project.

Mr. Lee says "I think I've figured out the secret of teaching: keeping things simple, observant, and where the kids can touch and mix are part of that core of teaching...I can't wait to see what their end-of-unit projects about landforms will be about!"
