Dear Parents and Guardians, I hope this letter finds you well. We would like to inform you of some important changes to the student shuttle bus schedule and adding 5 minutes to the elementary school day effective November 1st, 2023. 1. Elementary School to Middle/High School Shuttle: The student shuttle bus will depart from McCormick Elementary School to the Middle/High School and will now leave at 7:30 am. Please make sure your child is at the designated pick-up location on time to ensure a smooth and timely departure. 2. Middle/High School to Elementary School Shuttle: The student shuttle bus will depart from the Middle/High School to the Elementary School and will now leave at 7:50 am. We kindly request that students are punctual to avoid any delays in the morning commute. 3. Extended-Release Time: We want to inform you that the release time for students at McCormick Elementary School has been adjusted to provide students with an extra 5 minutes of instructional time. The new release time will be 3:25 pm. This change allows the district to increase the total number of minutes students attend school. Consequently, the district can now accommodate five days of inclement weather closures without having to make up missed school days. These adjustments have been implemented to ensure the safety, education, and well-being of our students while also enhancing the flexibility of the school district. We believe these changes will contribute to a more efficient and productive school year. Please be sure to communicate these new transportation and release times with your child to ensure a seamless transition to the new schedule. We greatly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we strive to provide the best possible education for your children. If you have any questions or concerns regarding these changes, please feel free to contact our district office at 785-293-5256. Thank you for your continued support. Sincerely, Rex Boley Superintendent

Parents & Patrons: Kansas Weather is very unpredictable especially during the winter months. Our District will post information about school postponement, closings or early release due to weather on our website, through our district app, KMAN Radio, KSNT TV and WIBW TV. Parents, please make sure that the school has your current phone number and email for your family. We ask families to be proactive in developing and having in place an alternative plan for a possible school delay, closer or early release.

**9-16-23** Good morning Blue Valley Families! As we look to the official student count day on September 20th next week, we want to take a moment to remind everyone that on September 19th, 20th and 21st, it is essential that all students be in school on those days. We turn our total attendance into the State on these days. These numbers are what help fund our school budget. An absent student negatively affects the funding we receive from the State. If possible, please try not to plan appointments for these days. Thank you for your help with making sure your students are at school!

Parents and Patrons, We have been notified today that there has been a positive Covid case within the school district. Please watch for signs and symptoms which can include fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue headaches and muscle aches. As a service to our families & staff we have free home Covid tests available for home use. These are available at all USD 384 main school offices. For privacy reasons please use at home. We encourage families to contact their healthcare provider if their child is not feeling well. USD 384 will continue to follow CDC and KDHE guidelines. Current guidelines include that all positive cases are too isolated for five days from onset of symptoms or date of testing for asymptomatic positive. Child or Staff members may return to school/work on day six if fever free for 24 hours and symptoms have improved. Masking is required in all school buildings from day six to ten. Those that choose not to mask are required to stay home for the full ten days.If you have any questions please reach out to Nurse Amanda at 785-293-5256 or avathauer@usd384.org
