As we come back to school from spring break, please monitor your child for COVID symptoms. If ill or have had known recent contact with a COVID positive individual, please keep them home and contact Nurse Emily for testing/quarantine options. As of now we have very few COVID cases in the district and we would love to keep it that way! Per KDHE and the LHD we are required to return to contact tracing, so keeping positive cases out of the school will help us keep everyone else in school! As always, do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns at ECassel@usd384.org. Thank you for helping to keep our district healthy and safe! Nurse Emily

USD 384 Blue Valley-Randolph MS/HS Mr. Meals and I brought a group out to tear fence down for the last 2 and half days. The kids, school board members, and two other teachers worked very hard and helped three families with their fencing. I wish I stopped to take a group picture of everyone in attendance. I know those who were with me took down in my estimation 13 miles of fence. We also had some that helped the owner pulled about 5 miles of post. I am really proud of the volunteers they worked hard and the families so appreciated it. I highly recommend if you can help with tearing down or picking up some pliers or fencing pliers and donating them that would be great. I wish I could add more pictures.

****School Canceled Due to Weather 3-10-22****Because of the weather predicted overnight into tomorrow, I have decided to CANCEL SCHOOL for tomorrow, Thursday, the 10th. With the forecast calling for heavy winter precipitation, I would rather give parents plenty of notice to make plans and err on the side of caution for students and staff traveling to and from school. Knowing the impact canceling school has on the families and community, this decision was not made lightly. Enjoy your day, stay safe and warm!

***Message from Superintendent*** 3-1-22 Good afternoon, As you may be aware, the CDC has updated their guidance to a mask optional policy while riding on or driving school transportation (buses). USD 384 is moving to a masking optional policy with regard to school transportation to reflect the guidance of the CDC. If a student is symptomatic (coughing, sneezing, etc) we are still recommending that those students wear a mask while riding to protect those around them. #RAMFAM

Earth Science is exploring the Mesozoic Era by looking at how paleontologists learn about ancient life from trackways and other trace fossils. Last week Freshmen teams constructed their own trackways using chalk dust, paper, and spray adhesive as a fixative. Today they will compare their findings with the mathematical models developed by paleontologists.
