Family Studies worked on positive talk.
Congratulations to Alyssa Shelton. She made the FCCLA Peer Education Team. Her team is Family First. Good job so proud of you.
The FACS Department received 6 tower gardens to grow vegetables and herbs through a grant this week. Two will stay in the FACS room, one to the special room, one to AG, one at the middle school, and one to the elementary school. What a great way to bring Farm to School to the classroom. Looking forward to see how everyone uses their towers.
FCCLA will be hosting a food drive for 5-12 grade, starting Wednesday, March 3 until March 9. If you fill a teachers door with can goods, you will have that hour off for that teacher. This is a great way for everyone to help in the community service project. We will outline doors in the gyms for each teacher.
World History Class taking their Ch. 8 Test.
There are many different art processes happening in the art department right now; the Graphic Design students are developing skills using the pencil tool & layers in Illustrator to create digital portraits, Art I students are trying their hand at printmaking for the first time, and Art II students are creating incredible landscapes using oil pastels.
English III students composed a descriptive paragraph about a picture. As partners they then drew each other's scene based on the description. Our "Zoomies" were very included in the activity!
This weeks Star Student is Taylor Bryant. Taylor is always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs one. Congratulations Taylor!
Consumer Math has been working on Areas of Polygons this week. Students went around the school and calculated the areas of different polygons.
Sixth grade science class has been studying different types of heat transfer. We took advantage of the beautiful weather this week to identify and record examples of convection, conduction, and radiation outside.
In nutrition and wellness we worked on cooking skills. Each student made an omelette.
In Baking and Pastries we made cream puffs. First time making them she did a great job. It was her first time eat one. I had one and they were very good.
