Blue Valley FCCLA District STAR Events results are in. I want to do a huge shout to those who participated because they all did a great job. We came home with 4 Silvers and 3 Bronze. We have 4 state qualifiers. Congratulations Ladies in representing Blue Valley FCCLA so well. I have included pictures of those attending state.

It is that time for FCCLA Crush sales for Valentines. Your choices of flavors are orange, grape, and strawberry. Winter Royalty shirts are available to purchase. $10.00 for youth sizes $15.00 for adults or 2 for $25.00. Shirts can be purchased at the High School throughout the day tomorrow or during the game in the commons area. Students who purchase a shirt will get in free to the game. Go Rams!

Winter Royalty "Night at the Casino" is tomorrow!! Please come join all the fun. The public is welcome to come to the annual Dodgeball Tournament that will start at 1:08 followed by the Pep Rally. Crowning will take place between the Varsity games. Hope to see you there! Go Rams!

BV FCCLA participated in District STAR Events at Linn today. We had six events and eleven participants and three members who helped judge, time, and were a runner. Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation: Tiffany Lambert Chapter in Review Portfolio: Clara Sedlacek and Landry Zoeller Interior Design: Olissa Prather Food Innovations: Lydia Dumler and Ella Hoeltzel Repurpose and Redesign: Brenna Gibson Teach and Train: Anna Corkill Chapter Service Project Portfolio: Norah Cassel and Kelbi Dettmer These ladies did a great job of taking a chance. They learned so many skills doing these events. Thank you to Brianna Krause, Alyssa Shelton and Kaiden Weeks for helping make sure the events went well. We will know our results next Wednesday February 8th at elections in Washington.

FCCLA has started our Strawberry Fundraiser. We will be taking orders for strawberries that will be delivered fresh from Florida sometime before Spring Break. We will be taking orders through February 10. Contact Ms. Luhman or an FCCLA member. Denise Webster is being honored by KSNT! She was nominated and selected to be featured on the “Everything Women” segment. She was interviewed Thursday, Jan. 26th and should be on the news this coming Tuesday at 10 pm. As many of you know, she is the school cook at McCormick Elementary School! She will soon be celebrating 30 years of service to our district! What an honor it is to have Denise in our district! She does an amazing job making sure our kids and staff are fed!

This past week FCCLA members made a trip to the Manhattan Emergency Shelter, Inc. As a chapter we have been selling socks through We Help Two with every 3 pairs we sell we receive one pair. We also did a small sock drive. We donated 50 pairs of socks. Great job FCCLA members.

***1-19-22**Due to the weather overnight and current road conditions, we will be starting school on a 2 HOUR DELAY to allow for the roads crews to treat them. McCormick Elementary will start at 10:10. High School and Middle School will start at 10:15 There is NO MORNING PRE-SCHOOL session. The afternoon Pre-school session will go on as scheduled. Be safe and allow extra time as you travel to school. There will be NO BREAKFAST served.
