EXCERPTS of USD #384 Regular Board of Education Meeting

A Regular Board of Education meeting for USD #384 Blue Valley was held on June 8, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Board Room. Members present were Mitch Innes, Reo Shultz, Tim Innes, Jason Hartman, Ginger Blaske, and Amy Cassel. Administration present was Brady Burton, Superintendent, Marion Mazouch, Middle School/High School Principal, and Melody Pfaff, Board Clerk.

CALL TO ORDER -  President, Mitch Innes called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

APPROVE THE AGENDA – Jason Hartman moved, Tim Innes seconded to approve the Agenda as presented. Motion carried 6-0.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Board and Guests recited the Pledge of Allegiance

WELCOME GUESTS – President Mitch Innes welcomed our guest

OPEN FORUM – No one addressed the board during open forum.

POSITIVE BOARD COMMENTS:

1. Reo Shultz commented that the senior road show went very well and was appreciated by the students and parent.

2. Reo Shultz mentioned that this is Brady Burton’s final meeting as Superintendent.

3. Mitch Innes complimented the condition of the grounds.

RECOGNITION OF STUDENTS/STAFF – Brady Burton was recognized for his 15 years of service as Superintendent at Blue Valley with a plaque. Thank you for all you have done for Blue Valley.

PRINCIPAL REPORTS – Site Council minutes were part of the principal reports.

SUPERINTENDENT REPORT– Superintendent Brady Burton informed the board that high school graduation will be held on June 27 at 3:00 p.m. at Blue Valley High School new gym. The fitness center also opened on June 8 to the public and for summer conditioning. The CARES money will be used to pay for the expense of Chrome Books and Cleaning Supplies.

BOARD REPORT – Nothing at this time.

CONSENT AGENDA – Reo Shultz moved, Tim Innes seconded to approve the Consent Agenda as follows:

BVHS/BVMS Handbook – Ginger Blaske moved, Jason Hartman seconded to approve the BVHS/BVMS Handbook as presented. Motion carried 6-0.

NEW BUSINESS:

Approve Warrants/Transfers – Tim Innes moved, Ginger Blaske seconded to approve the Warrants/Transfers as presented. Motion carried 6-0.
