
Blue Valley fifth and sixth grade students had the opportunity to go to Lawrence on Thursday, May 5. Students visited the KU Natural History Museum and Prairie Park Nature Center. Students were complimented on their engagement and great behavior at the museum! Way to represent, Rams!




In Essentials of FAID students learned how different fibers absorbed, resist, and burning. Students learned a lot about manufactured and natural fibers.

Fifth grade learned about metacognitive(Thinking about your thinking) today! Fifth grade did a wonderful job of thinking of questions about the reading. Students also learned skills about highlighting important details while reading.

Community HealthCare System of NE Kansas will once again being offer FREE school physicals for all incoming 5th-12th grade students for the 2022-2023 school year. School Physicals will take place on Thursday, May 12th in the Blue Valley Fitness Center. Any student that will be participating in a PE class, Weights class, or extra-curricular activity sanctioned by KSHSAA, will need to have a physical on file before he or she can participate in an activity. Last year, over 65 students and their families took advantage of this great opportunity to knock an item off the summer to-do list early. Please complete the KSHSAA Physical and Concussion Forms listed on the front page of the USD 384 webpage and have your student bring it the day of the physical. 5th and 6th graders had a wonderful time today! Thank you Mrs. Ellis for the wonderful field trip!




Reminder: Fifth and sixth grade students will be going to Lawrence Thursday, May 5. The bus loads at the middle school at 8:00 AM. Students were asked to wear Blue Valley gear or a blue shirt. Please have students remember to bring their sack lunch. If students ordered one from the school, we will bring them for those who requested one. Book bags for fifth and sixth graders are not necessary to bring to school tomorrow.

Thursday, the 5th and 6th grade students will be going on their field trip to Lawrence. We will be visiting the Natural History Museum and Prairie Park Nature Center. A letter was sent home with students on Monday with the itinerary. Please contact Mrs. Ellis if you have any questions.

FCCLA is hosting the meal before the Middle school and High School music concert. The meal is walking tacos, brownies, water or tea. This is a free will donation to help offset expenses for the officers conference in August.


Upcoming Concerts: MS/HS choir & band concert is Monday, May 2nd at 7pm and the McCormick Elementary concert is Tuesday, May 10th at 7pm. Both concerts will be in the old gym at Blue Valley High School. A fundraiser meal will be held by the FCCLA students going to nationals this summer before each concert.

5th grade talked about what being a team means, how we can be positive on a team, when you use teamwork at home, how we can show good teamwork, and predicted on what it would look like being on a team when we get older.

The Blue Valley PTO will be hosting their annual Boots & Bling fundraiser tomorrow, April 14th from 4-9p at The North County in Randolph.
